The swashbuckling batter Tristan Stubbs expressed his delight after being bought by Sunrisers Eastern Cape for 9.2 Million Rand in SA20 Auction on Monday (September 19).

Stubbs rose to fame by emerging as the second highest run-scorer in the CSA T20 Challenge 2022 with 293 runs in seven innings at a striker rate of 183.12. He then was a part of the Mumbai Indians squad in the IPL 2022 as well.

In June 2022, the youngster made his T20I debut for South Africa against India. Soon, he produced a scintillating knock of 72 off 28 balls against England, which was further testimony to his talent.

The recently concluded Men's Hundred witnessed the 22-year-old scoring 157 runs and taking four wickets in nine matches for Manchester Originals.

Stubbs hopes his team will be able to put up a spectacle in front of the packed crowds.

“It is crazy! I am still shaking,” Stubbs said.

“It is just awesome to be a part of this tournament. I didn’t want to watch it, but I was forced to watch it. There is nothing better than playing in front of a full crowd, and hopefully we can put on a spectacle for everyone and the crowds will pull in. I am open to whatever the team needs.”
