Rohit Sharma has added another feather to his cap, by getting past Virat Kohli in terms of the number of wins as an Indian captain in the shortest format.

Sharma achieved this miraculous feat after India's 40-run victory over the Hong Kong team on Wednesday (31 August) in the Asia Cup 2022. He now has led the Indian team to 31 wins in 37 T20I matches, since first donning the skipper's role in 2017.

With a staggering winning percentage of 83.78, the 35-year-old is expected to create history by the end of the year. Sharma is 10 wins away from becoming the most successful captain in the history of this format.

With a plethora of T20I games being slated to be played this year, including the T20I World Cup, it will be interesting to witness the performances of the Indian team.

Currently, MS Dhoni takes the pole position after tasting success in 41 out of the 72 matches from 2007 to 2016.

India set their foot on the Super-four stage

With confidence boosting victories in their two league games, India became the second team to seal the place in the Super-four stage after Afghanistan.

In this round, each team will play other three teams once, and top two teams will then play an all-important Finals scheduled to take place on 11 September in Dubai.
