The eighth match of the ongoing men’s 6IXTY season will see the Barbados Royals taking on the Guyana Amazon Warriors.

The Barbados Royals, under Kyle Mayers, won their opening game of the season to open their account on the points table. They hunted down Trinbago Knight Riders’ 76-run total with three wickets and 21 balls in hand. Number three batter Corbin Bosch starred in the run-chase with a six-laden 23-ball 42.

The Guyana Amazon Warriors also won their opening match-up, defeating Saint Lucia Kings by seven runs in a see-saw thriller. Odean Smith headlined their win with an all-round show, picking up a wicket and scoring 36 unbeaten runs in the death overs.

The upcoming contest marks the third and final match for both sides prior to the playoffs stage of the competition.

  • Odean Smith: In the two Warriors matches so far, star all-rounder Odean Smith has picked up three wickets. He also won a match with the bat, scoring a rapid 36 against the Saint Lucia Kings.
  • Waqar Salamkheil: Warriors’ Afghanistan import Waqar Salamkheil has collected four wickets across two innings for his side. His best performance of the season came against the Kings, when he picked up 3-16 off his two overs.
  • Corbin Bosch: South Africa-based Corbin Bosch scored more than half of Royals runs in their successful run-chase against the Knight Riders. He clubbed 42 off just 23 after arriving to the crease within the first over.
