Bengaluru Blasters (BLB) continued to cement their position at the top of the points table as Shivamogga Strikers (SMS) were handed their sixth loss of the ongoing Maharaja T20 League 2022 season.

Chethan LR's century disfigured the Strikes in the first innings. Adding insult to injury, Pradeep T mangled them to pieces with his four-for as the Blasters clinched a 25-run victory.

Kadam - A Saving Grace

Amidst a heavy weather, Shivamogga's opener, Rohan Kadam, emerged as a bright patch of sunlight as his side found a solace in him. While no other Strikers' batter could touch the 30-run mark, Kadam's 39-ball 67 ensured fans were greeted with a batting extravaganza in the second half of the match.

While Kadam's blistering striking made fans stick to their television sets, Pradeep made sure that the game firmly remained in Bengaluru's grasp. The pacer claimed a four-for to give regular shocks to Shivamogga's already lingering innings as they eventually ended at 166/8 in the 20 overs, losing the encounter by 25 runs.

Chethan smacks a ton

Put in to bat first, Mayank Agarwal and Co. found themselves in a pickle, losing their skipper early on in the innings. However, Chethan LR went the whole nine yards and put on a great show to deliver a thumping 105-run knock.

As some would say, Chethan was a man on a mission today. The right-hander never let his guard down and reaped the rewards of the many poor deliveries that came his way. He was well aided by Aniruddha Joshi, whose 54 runs held as much importance as Chethan's scintillating hundred.

Both the batters made up for almost 85 per cent of the team's total as Bengaluru finished at 191/6 at the end of the 20th over.

Brief scores:

Bengaluru Blasters - 191/6 (20)

Chethan LR 105* (55), Aniruddha Joshi 54 (28);
