Jansen, Nortje, Ngidi will make up for Duanne Olivier's absence feels Bavuma

South Africa are taking on England in a three-Test series. The Dean Elgar-led side will be without the services of fast-bowler Dunanne Olivier, who was ruled out of the series following a muscle tear just ahead of the Lord's Test.

However, South Africa's white-ball captain Temba Bavuma believes that the visitors have like-for-like replacements in bowling, with the likes of Lungi Ngidi, Marco Jansen, and Anrich Nortje sitting on the bench.

"Lungi Ngidi has been bowling fantastically well in the white-ball stuff and there is the tall, left-arm option in the form of Marco Jansen. The Proteas have Anrich Nortje as well who is bowling rockets at the moment. Along with our two spinners, those are the three main seamers we would probably choose from," - Bavuma wrote in his column.

Why was Olivier important?

Olivier has been playing in England since opting to take the Kolpak deal in 2019, with County club Yorkshire for three years.

The 30-year-old made his international comeback in home series against India, after Kolpak ruling was discontinued.

Elgar on arrival to the UK, emphasied on the importance of  ex-Kolpak players, who are well-versed with English conditions.

Olivier has played 15 Tests and grabbed 59 wickets at an average of 21.93.

South Africa's bowling attack at Lord's

The Proteas attack as expected are by spearheaded by Kagiso Rabada, who has been included in the playing XI after doubts over his fitness.  Rabada, along with Jansen, Ngidi, and Nortje form a lethal attack, with Keshav Maharaj acting as the lone spinner.
