Right before their season opener against the Manchester Originals in the ongoing season of The Hundred Women 2022, Trent Rockets have been hit with a major setback as skipper Nat Sciver has opted to pull out of the game citing personal reasons.

Captaincy woes for the Rockets

The player was expected to open the season for the franchise, however the new developments will mean that the franchise will be forced to turn their head towards Australian batter Elyse Villani to lead the side.

Not all is lost for the franchise as according to emerging reports from the English media, this is just a one-off absence for Nat Sciver as the player is likely to return to her team this coming Monday before their game against Birmingham Phoenix.

The team will try to hold down the fort in the absence of their regular skipper and hope that they emerge with a win to provide the early boost of momentum. It will be interesting to see how the side fares without their most crucial player.
