Everyone has contributed at various moments in the game

Stand-in South African skipper David Miller termed his sides' comprehensive 44-run win over Ireland in the 2nd T20I 'a team effort', stating that everyone chipped in at various stages of the game.

Brilliant knocks from Heinrich Klaasen (39 off 16), Aiden Markram (27 off 10),  Miller (34* off 20) and a five-wicket haul from left-arm seamer Wayne Parnell (5/30 in 4 overs) powered the Proteas to a comprehensive 2-0 series win against the Irish on Friday.

Speaking at the presentation party following the thumping victory, Miller lauded his players for coming up with crucial performances at different junctures.

The blistering middle-order batter has led South Africa to consecutive series wins this summer and, on expected terms, he seems to have enjoyed every bit of it.

"Everyone has contributed at various moments in the game. It is really nice to chip in as a captain, I have learnt a lot, the bowlers have been good and it's been a nice challenge," said Miller as quoted by ANI.

Guys have stood up at various stages - Miller

With the likes of Markram, Klaasen, Rassie van der Dussen, Tristan Stubbs doing well, the Proteas have a problem of plenty as far as picking their best batting Xi is concerned, considering that Temba Bavuma will slot in at right back when he returns from injury.

However, Miller believes it's a good problem to have given that it's a World Cup year.

"It' is always a good problem to have (on their batting options), going into the World Cup," he said.

The Proteas have enjoyed considerable success in the last 12 months or so. Miller hailed the turnaround as a 'team effort' while adding that his side is looking forward to the upcoming World Cup.

"The last 18 months have been phenomenal, the guys have stood up at various stages, T20 is an interesting game, the World Cup is still a long way away, but we're looking forward to it," he added.

South Africa recently came away 2-2 against India in India in June and have recently beaten England and Ireland. With immense batting and bowling depth and versatility at their disposal, it is fair to say that they will start as one of the favorites in the forthcoming event.
