The 2022 Royal London One-Day Cup continued with Sussex taking on Gloucestershire in Hove on August 5. Here is a look at the highlights from the high-scoring game.

Sussex vs Gloucestershire

Sussex amassed 334-9 off their 50 overs after being asked to bat first by the visitors. Captain and India-based batting barnacle Cheteshwar Pujara batted out of his skin to mint 63 of those runs off just 71 balls.

Bermuda-based all-rounder Delray Rawlins clubbed a 62-ball 91 while Daniel Ibrahim struck a rapid half-century. Despite posting the daunting total, Gloucestershire’s Paul van Meekeren claimed an economical five-fer of his 10 overs.

The visitor’s response got off to an unsteady start, as they lost three of their wickets within the first six overs of the innings. Rebellious half-centuries from James Bracey and Zafar Gohar went in vain as they fell 51 runs short of their target.

Notably, Rawlins, who piled up 91 to register his highest List A score, picked up 3-50 with his left-arm spin to cap an all-round performance to remember.

Brief scores:

Sussex: 334-9 (50)
Delray Rawlins 91 (62), Cheteshwar Pujara 63 (71)
Paul van Meekeren 5-48, Jack Taylor 2-12

Gloucestershire: 283 (44.2)
James Bracey 87 (86), Zafar Gohar 53 (41)
Aristides Karvelas 3-35, Delray Rawlins 3-50

Sussex won by 51 runs
