The overlookers were hooked on the new and unique concept of the tournament, which differs from T20 cricket as it comprises 100 deliveries per innings.

The England power-hitter Liam Livingstone was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the men’s tournament last year as he topped the run charts with 348 runs and also achieved the highest individual score with an unbeaten 92 against Northern Superchargers.

However, the Lancashire cricketer couldn't help his franchise Birmingham Phoenix clinch the tournament title as Southern Brave got the better of them in the Summit Clash.

“It was amazing to be a part of, considering we started the tournament not knowing what it was all about. I guess the way it snowballed throughout the summer was pretty cool," Livingstone said.

“I have certainly seen that over the last year because, even when I go home now, there are a lot more people who don’t really know about cricket but talk about the Hundred.”

The second season of the tournament will certainly be a litmus test for the true cricket enthusiasts, as how the new league comes up on the larger picture amid a lot of cricket going around.
