Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) assistant coach Vijay Dahiya praised Mohsin Khan after the left-arm pacer bowled a match-winning spell against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy on Wednesday, May 18. Notably, Khan scalped three crucial wickets of Venkatesh Iyer, Abhijeet Tomar and Andre Russell and put pressure on the KKR batting unit as well.

However, on the back of his bowling effort, the Super Giants beat the Kolkata Knight Riders by 2 runs and cemented a berth in the playoffs. In eight matches, the young bowling sensation has bowled at an express pace and has claimed 13 wickets, which came at an economy rate of 5.93.

Dahiya said that Khan has bowled exceptionally well while keeping in mind that he is playing his maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

"Mohsin Khan has been phenomenal. Sometimes, you look at the numbers if you have not watched the game or look at the numbers in the last couple of games as well. But if you are watching and seeing what he has done, the situation that he has bowled in, according to me, he has bowled the best two overs," Dahiya was quoted as saying in the post-match press conference.

"Barring one game, he has bowled really well. For a youngster playing his first IPL, coming back and delivering, it's phenomenal. It speaks not only about his skills, but also his mental side," he further stated.

Dahiya also applauded the Knight Riders' batters for making LSG work hard for the victory too. In the last four overs, Rinku Singh's 15-ball 40 and Sunil Narine's seven-ball 21 kept the hope alive of KKR's victory. Dahiya also said that the Lucknow Super Giants would be better prepared for similar scenarios in the upcoming games after registering a nail-biting win.

"Let's give credit where it's due. KKR batters put our bowlers under pressure. We'll go back and see what can be done because there is a possibility that we'll be in the same situation. But the way they batted, a lot of credit needs to be given to them," Dahiya concluded.

Meanwhile, the captain KL Rahul believes Mohsin Khan will soon be seen in India colours. After the openers, Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul put up a massive total, but it was the youngster who sealed the deal. And, it will be interesting to see him donning the blue as well.

He said, "Mohsin has been outstanding for us in the last few games. He's got the skills but the key thing has been his knowledge of when to use those skills. He'll be donning the Blue jersey soon the way he is going."
