In a thrilling showdown at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured a dominant victory against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 45th match of IPL 2024.

Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, RCB efficiently restricted GT to a challenging score of 200 runs in their allotted 20 overs.

Despite GT's efforts, RCB's chase was led by a spectacular performance from Will Jacks, who scored an unbeaten century (100* off 41 balls), supported by Virat Kohli's masterful 70* off 44 balls.

The duo's formidable partnership of 166 runs ensured RCB's victory by 9 wickets with 4 overs to spare.

Reflecting on the loss, GT Captain Shubman Gill acknowledged RCB's impressive batting display, stating,

"You know, I think they displayed great hitting out there." Gill emphasized the need for better strategies for the upcoming matches, saying, "We need to come up with better plans for the next match and practice executing them."

Gill also shared insights into GT's batting approach, remarking, "When you're batting, you might think about adding 15 to 20 runs here and there." However, he expressed disappointment that their competitive total of 200 runs didn't translate into a favourable outcome.

Highlighting GT's struggle in the middle overs, Gill identified it as a crucial factor in their defeat, stating, "I believe we struggled to pick up wickets in the middle overs, which has typically been one of our strengths."

With GT's next match against RCB scheduled for May 4th in Bengaluru, Gill expressed determination for redemption, stating, "We very much look forward to taking the revenge."
