The 32nd match of IPL 2024 will see Punjab Kings go up against Mumbai Indians at their new home ground in Mullanpur. Both teams are languishing in the lower half of the points table with just two wins in six matches, and need to get their house in order quickly, if they want to take that upward flight.

The home team Punjab Kings have played some decent cricket but have lost couple of close games, which they would like to rectify against Hardik Pandya's MI. The visitors too have some problems in their camp, and it is a golden opportunity for PBKS to topple MI and put them in the deeper hole.

Punjab have found new heroes in the form of Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma this season, but their top order has not fired. Bairstow has not lived upto his billing while Dhawan is likely to miss couple of games more due to shoulder injury.

In his absence Atharva Taide is likely to continue at the top of the order and we might see Rilee Rossouw too getting a game in place of Bairstow.

Rest of the batting line-up looks settled with Livingstone making his comeback in the last game, but he needs to notch up some big scores along with the duo of Sam Curran and Jitesh Sharma to keep PBKS in happy space for a long time.

Sam Curran will continue to lead Punjab in Shikhar's absence and overall, their biggest strength is the availability of all-rounders which provides depth in both batting and bowling. Let's see how they tackle the MI might in this all-important game.
